Ram Navami 2026: When Will It Be Celebrated—March 26 or 27? Know the Correct Date, Kanya Pujan Timings & पूजा विधि

The sacred festival of Chaitra Navratri 2026 is being celebrated across the country with great devotion and enthusiasm. During these auspicious nine days, the festival of Ram Navami marks the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Ram. It falls in the final phase of Navratri and holds immense spiritual significance.

Like every year, there is confusion among devotees regarding whether Ram Navami will be celebrated on March 26 or March 27, 2026. Additionally, many people want to know the correct timing for Kanya Pujan and how to perform it properly. Let’s understand everything in detail.

When is Ram Navami 2026? (Correct Date)

According to the Vedic Panchang, the Navami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the Chaitra month:

Starts: March 26, 2026 (after morning)

Ends: March 27, 2026 (morning)

In Hindu tradition, festivals are determined based on the Udaya Tithi (the date prevailing at sunrise).

Therefore, Ram Navami will be celebrated on March 27, 2026 (Friday).

Why is There Confusion About the Date?

This year, the Ashtami and Navami tithis overlap:

Ashtami prevails until the morning of March 26

Navami begins afterward

Due to this overlap, many people assume March 26 is Ram Navami.

However, based on religious rules, March 27 is the correct date.

Religious Significance of Ram Navami

Ram Navami marks the birth of Lord Shri Ram, who is considered the symbol of truth, righteousness, and ideal conduct.

According to beliefs:

Lord Ram was born in Ayodhya on this day

It represents the victory of dharma over adharma
